During 2012-2013, PFPI implemented the Frontliners Project for Climate Change Adaptation with the League of Municipalities in the Philippines (LMP) to increase awareness among local chief executives (LCEs) of inter-related population-health-environment (PHE) dynamics in the Philippines that heighten vulnerability to climate change, and to foster LCE champions (‘Frontliners’) for the advancement of policies/investments that support integrated PHE and climate change initiatives. Related policy briefs were developed to encourage LCEs to mainstream PHE and climate change adaptation strategies and activities into local development agendas. Around 1,000 policymakers in the country were reached by the project.
